Other leagues aren't going to keep this person out. They are too desperate to fill and get started up again, and I don't think most players look at the forums to be aware this is going on.

WiS needs to block the ip.

Yet WIS not only won't block the IP address, WIS knowingly adopted a head in the sand approach when it wrote "We want users to be able to play with their family and friends if the situation works and the users can keep their play clean." That's naive. If WIS spent a moment thinking about the issue instead of just trying to quickly get rid of a support ticket, it would realize that the main time the situation cannot work is if the World is forced to react to secret relationships. Putting a "family and friends" disclosure requirement in the Fair Play Guidelines is the absolute minimum that WIS could do, but if they won't do it, some of the better HBD Worlds should consider adding it to their private rules.

Will WIS allow you guys to find a new commissioner(i.e. election; successful coup)? It's not exactly a morale boosting situation. If I had multiple seasons in a world and something like this happened, I sincerely don't know what I'd do. Would I stay? Woukd I leave? Im really not sure.

I wouldn't say it's the commissioner's fault that someone is getting away with sleazy subterfuge. If WIS misinterprets its own Fair Play Guidelines, and sides with a troll, what's a commissioner supposed to do?

WIS is in a tough spot...and I don't have a history of defending them. WIS has literaly no way of knowing if multiple users from the same IP address are related, unrelated roommates sharing an Internet connection to save money or the same person masquerading with alt-IDs.

I have three accounts, all are me, not me/wife/child. I have them because I play FC Dynasty, where having multiple teams is very common but the beta doesn't allow multiple teams under the same ID...so most FCD coaches create alt-IDs to add additional teams.

But I am honest and would never use those alt-IDs to play multiple Hardball Dynasty franchises in the same world. If I wanted to have more than one HBD team, and I have many times in the past, I'd just get a 2nd team under this ID, my main one. But my 2nd ID was created in 2009 and has HD, SIM league baseball/basketball, etc. history on it. I even won a GD Championship on it so it looks legit if I suddenly became unscrupulous and wanted to portray it as a separate person, a "spouse" if you will.

I don't think WIS is trying to be vague with the Fair Play Guidelines. They are trying thread a needle.

I do not care is spouses, cousins, friends or relatives play with each other as long as it is known and if the collude then they get kicked. I was in a world once where it was obvious the Commish had an alt id in the league. I left.

Both his user names were ultimately replaced, if he's in any of your leagues I would keep an eye out. There's no doubt in my mind he's using multiple accounts. His ultimate demise (for me) was when he slipped and mentioned a user name that isn't in our league and nobody else mentioned in WC. Well, with a little research that user name had 90+ seasons in HBD, the best part? One of the former teams' name was Schizophrenics, which I found quite comical and fitting. His vernacular and sentence structure when posting on either team wasn't all that different either, you could tell he was trying to sound like two different people but it was pretty easy to spot. At that point, all that was needed is adding two and two.

Agree. I played with a Dad-Son, we knew and no problems.

Collusive trades are collusive trades. Get em vetoed. If you can't get em vetoed, create a private World rule that prohibits collusive trades or quote the language in the fair play guidelines. Then, once the rule is broken, put in a ticket to have the collusive owners removed. We did it in Glavine. We had a guy ask to join the world. Then we had a another guy ask to join the world and they both wrote in the same style. So, I made a note to the commissioner that if they traded and it was a garbage trade, we need to place a ticket to remove them. They did and we removed them.
