Imo it should be closer to any number of your choice not just 1-12-24 then you get your spot in inverse order.

imo the way you’re explaining is a little to complicated.

It would be closer to any number that you want, but if you don’t get the number you want then you’re taking a chance on what number you get.

Next season I might try something new. Instead of choosing closer to 1 or closer to 24, or adding a closer to 12 option, I might try a pick your draft position feature. Say that you want pick #4, if you’re the only person who requests #4 then you get it. Say you want the #1 pick. If seven people ask for #1, those seven people will go into a lottery, with all seven having an equal chance of getting the #1 pick. The other six will be assigned the next highest available draft slot. Say if someone else requested 3, 4 and 6 and they got those slots, the seven people who requested the #1 pick will be at 1, 2, 5, 7, 8, 9 and 10. This is just a thought to try something different. If you want something like 12 or 16, you have a good chance of getting it….. I think. There might be a scramble for #24. There will be a fight for #1.
Hypothetically, if 6 people pick #24, what happens to the lottery losers? Backwards from 24 or just fill in the blanks somehow?

Say six people requested #24. Let's say one person asked for #23 and another person asked for #20. Whoever "wins" the #24 lottery gets pick #24 and the other five would get #22, #21, #19, #18 and #17. They would all get the closest available number to 24.
