Early D2 Players May Delay Signing w D3's in RS2 Topic

So, i just learned that signing an Early D2 player (Curry and Harbuck from SD) at my D3 team (Tark St Olaf) is *not* automatic at 5pm of RS2.

This has never happened on any other D3 team i've run, but has happened with 2 different recruits over the past day in Tark World RS2.

In RS1 I targeted several D2 level players. All had signing tendencies of Early or End of Period 1.

At the completion of RS1, these players had scholarship offers from me only. I assumed that these players would sign during RS2 Cycle 1 at 5pm last night.

Two guys did *not* sign. I wrote to HD Customer Support, and they quickly responded and provided an explanation (posted below):

jholtus at HD Support was nice enough to respond: "Sometimes a player will delay or not even sign at all if they feel that they can get signed by a better program than the one who is interested in them. Since these players are projected at DII this one of those situations where they feel they "can do better".

Of course this new thing blows now because now D2 Sims are sniffing around, and i had alotted resources to a D1 target (cuz a thought these 2 guys were automatically mine) that i can hopefully land at 11pm tonight.

Also of note is that because for Harbuck i was the only team on his Considering List, and for Curry it was me and a disinterested human from California, i didn't bother unlocking other items yet like Visits and Minutes... for that reason i'm kinda hosed now on Curry cuz a Sim has arrived.

If I understand correctly this isn’t anything new. You still have to get them above moderate once they’re able to sign with a lower division. How that’s driven, preferences, etc I’m not as sure, but not even having promises unlocked is probably a good sign not a lot of AP or multipliers went into effect. I could be wrong, but that’s how I’m seeing this one.

Hey Benjamin! My paisan from the old Southland !!

Yes, what you described makes sense, but i had never had it happen during my D3 days... for me it always happened that the guy signed in RS2 immediately at 5pm, as long as i offered and he accepted a scholarship. I *have* had rare situations where the player would not accept the scholarship in the first place, so there was no signing.
