Is the only way to compete and have success (Sweet 16’s, Final Four’s, etc.) at the D3 level to recruit D1 players? I understand the importance of game-planning and the other nuances of the game but am interested to know from more experienced players the impact and importance of D1 recruits.

Nope. D3 teams full of D2 recruits can win championships.

i solely recruit d2 players at d3 and I dont have any issue with winning titles or making F4s.
