For San Diego, this means you start with their 1976 team.
This includes ace SP Randy Jones and a number of other average to above average arms, along with good seasons from Dave Winfield, OF and Doug Rader, 3B, as well as strong defense from Willie Davis, CF, Tito Fuentes, 2B, and a couple other useful parts.

You get two San Diego players from 2006 - likely a very good CF season from Mike Cameron and ace RP Cla Meredith (with some other good choices available) - and two Baltimore players from 2016 - likely very good partial SP season Drew Pomeranz, and a variety of useful hitters to choose from.

Remaining weaknesses at C, 1B, SS, and pitching, you address through the six round draft. The 1909 players you take are excellent (we only draft 16 hitters and 16 hitters from the whole season). You'll have a competitive club.

Late 70s and 80s the Padres get better and better, as George Hendrick, and then Ozzie Smith and Gaylord Perry and Rollie Fingers and other come aboard, including eventually Tony Gwynn!

Meanwhile, based on poor real-life records, you'll be high in the draft for a while. This year, San Diego picks THIRD. San Diego will be adding 2-3 all-star level players through the draft.

This is my offer posted in the Triple Play Progressive classified. I am taking over as commissioner of a great league entering a great period of baseball history.

These two teams are still available. Draft is ready to go.

Note to commissioners trying to fill their own progressives here. If you take one of these two teams. I will take the available team in your league that you need to fill. Just post that you are taking whichever team you like here in this forum and let me know what team I am taking in your league.

Actually, my offer does not only apply to the commissioner here. If anyone in this league takes up my offer, I will take the available team in this league

Thank you!
