This was a really great draft. You guys are really tough and this did not end up the way I was planning as it seemed like everyone was on the same guys at the same time. My confidence is lower than when we started, but we will see how this plays out.

Most painful snipes:

Round 2 - Schwarze takes Kevin Brown right before me. I thought he would be there for sure. Lamet is nice, but I was hoping to lock in the 257 ip early. Forcing me to take another starter here at the end

Round 10 - Pedro takes Hanley Ramirez. I was all set to take him, which was the plan all along when I took Tulo early. I like the half season Tulo and Hanley pairs perfectly with him. That one really hurt

Round 11 - DD takes Scutaro AND Winn on the turn. I was going to do this exact move as Scutaro was my back up option to Hanley as a pair with Tulo, and Winn gives the option to use the short-season depending on how the rest of the draft plays out

There were more, but these were the most painful.

Final 2 picks:
Yu Darvish

I had Winn all typed in, then changed my mind. Also, Hanley wouldn't have made it to you round 10. Those were just two of the many snipes I had against me. Will write about it in a separate thread, once all the drafts are completed.

I don't really need anything here. I could grab the best full-time SS to snipe DougsDawgs who still needs a starter. I could take a catcher with a better arm than my current catching platoon (W.Smith/T.Hundley), but at a significant downgrade on offense, plus I don't see a lot of SBs in this league. Certainly, there are some short-AB stud-hitter types that could get a dozen starts at DH. But, it never hurts to have an extra arm in the bullpen. After this pick, I will have seven RPs with cumulative stats of 338 innings, .138 oav, 0.71 whip, 0.27 hr/9, 11.7 k/9, 2.2 bb/9. What could go wrong?

Rounds 3-5 were the painful ones for me. I stubbornly stuck with the plan to get SP in round 3 (Gallen) hoping Larry Walker would slide to round 4 which of course he didn't. Then I had a group of 4 players I really liked in round 4 (Gonsolin, Gagne, Posey, and Tulowitzki). I took Gonsolin, thinking at least one of the three would make it back to me in round 5; or worst case, if all three were taken, I could grab Luis Gonzalez. But no - schwarze and emanes took all four. Charlie Blackmon seems like a weak consolation prize. I had really wanted to do the Tulo/Ramirez platoon as well.

Good luck all - hope this division is as strong as i think.

Now time to grab a few more IPs

The Hanley one hurt, not so much because it was a snipe though. I almost did it earlier, but pivoted to Jeff Kent even though I knew 2B was pretty deep. There are still a bunch of middle infielders out there I thought for sure would be taken. In fact, it's possible that we will have a SS that goes undrafted who could be the top SS in one of the other divisions.

I'm not going to take the aforementioned SS who I'd be more than happy to have but I am in need of a backup C. Trea Turner will man SS while Mookie Betts even with his lack of range will man 2B with Scutaro filling in at SS, moving Trea to 2B and Mookie to the OF from time to time.
There were several guys I was hoping to get, I'll mention them at a later time as well. This was an incredible draft, you guys are tough as hell! Looking forward to this race this year
With that being said, Mr. Irrelevant will be

I was wondering if that's the direction you were going. You are a lot braver than I with respect to playing a D- range at 2B.

Knowing what I know now, I would have been happy to spend my final 2 picks on something like Aaron Hill and Story / Aurilia. Great value and could have upgraded somewhere else earlier. Very deep draft pool, we got lucky in this division.

Might be a dumb move on my part, guess we'll find out.

Thought about taking Hill or Aurilia instead of Shawn Green but I'd be in same boat with Def in OF so figured I'd take the better D in OF
