I got the itch to play hoops again after a while off. I played very little with the newer engine and new recruiting. Anyone got any strategy tips to help me out in D2? Feel free to DM.

I’m not a D2 coach really, solely played D1 until recent. My best advice is join the discord, create + download if you can. A lot of D2 coaches in there are mentors and willing to help!

The biggest strategy I would focus on is recruiting. There is a certain type of player that falls through the cracks and goes unnoticed by D1 coaches but is a stud at D2.

You need to know what to look for when you’re scouting and have plenty of options; plan B, plan C, etc. Send me a DM if you’d like and I can share examples. I’m only coaching one D2 team right now and I have two senior guards who are both averaging 25+ points per game; the double-headed monster.

One of them was passed up by D1 coaches because his defense isn’t good for D1 (but he’s great in everything else.) The other guy could definitely be playing D1 but he was a project. He started out as a freshman with low core ratings but a bunch of blues and greens so D1 coaches passed him by.
