Power of AP/DII in recruiting Topic

So apparently something has changed in recruiting, and I have gone back a couple of years in the forums and cannot see it spelled out clearly. It doesn't happen to often that I do this, so I guess I just haven't noticed. Basically it is much harder apparently to grab a recruit who has a good DII school on him during the first round of recruiting. Before, usually a scholarship would put a top DI school above the DII school who was stuck at "medium" until the second round. Or for sure, minutes and if needed a start would propel the DI school above the DII one. Now that doesn't happen. So what exactly happened in the engine? Did they make AP stronger for DII schools? The players I noticed it with this season had "wants playing time" so is it something with that? Or it is a specific adjustment to prevent such recruiting maneuvers from happening?

Thanks for your answers. Can you point me to a dev chat or update where this change is discussed?

I don’t think there’s been a change. I bet you’ve had a few experiences where the D2 school spend a bit?

I would think so, but in all these years I've never not jumped to "high" with a scholly and pt over a DII school. I would think some of those times must have had some DII schools who had spent a bit. Maybe. Could it be related to the wants play change with the redshirt button where you are decimated and cannot recover if you offer redshirt after offering pt?

Not sure anything has changed.

Some recruits you could jump to very high vs the lower school with 100 AP and a scholarship
Other recruits I've been stuck at Moderate with 200+ AP, schollie and a 10-minute promise.
I guess it comes down to what is the prestige edge for the D1 and the D2. 3X? 5X?
Even at 5X, if the D1 offers 100AP, the D2 would only have needed 500AP (maybe ~30-35 per cycle) to match.

Wasn't it mentioned that the remove red shirt is somewhere around a hit of -85 AP?

Oh ok, I guess I just haven't faced that level of DII spending before. I suppose I didn't jump on them as late as I did this season. I am talking about that big in Vegas oldwarrior if you are curious.
