If I’m not mistaken, they all show up as F recruits initially, but must be scouted to find out their actual abilities

If they've played in games that season, you can you to their previous teams boxscores, find them, and see their current ratings and season growth. That's a way around scouting. Not perfect, but can give you an idea if they're worth additional scouting.
