Recruiting AP Question Topic

At what point should you stop putting in AP. Essentially what number of AP should you max out at to stop getting diminishing returns, or does it matter. Is it better to do more AP to get a guy instead of trying to mitigate loss at higher AP. Just trying to remember if there was a correlation or if I can go all out on some recruits.

There is no diminishing return or max AP. AP are incredibly useful in navigating recruiting.

From the dev Q&A a while back - "It takes roughly 50 AP to build the same amount of interest per cycle as a Home Visit.".. Think of 2-2.5 HV as 1CV.

My understanding is... AP, HV, CV, offered scholarship, and promises all are forms of 'effort' put towards a recruit. That effort is put into an equation that includes preferences and your current prestige. That spits out an outcome which, that final value number, is then put towards the recruit. The totality of all your final numbers get added up and put up against everyone else contesting that recruit.

In other words, pulling AP on a recruit you don't have locked up is a really risky play as the other team could just be pumping in AP and potentially knocking you to high, or worse, moderate where you don't get a roll.

Thanks, that makes a lot more sense, and probably why I have lost some rolls in the past.

I don't think I've ever won a recruiting battle when I was apparently tied with another coach at "very high" and each time my "probability" was higher than my opponent. In each case the recruit was maxed out on visits, was promised start and 20min playing time, and had all the AP's available. Am I doing something wrong or just unlucky?

I think unlucky as I won a Dice Roll this season with all of what you said, but was only High in the end and like 27% chance of signing.

No worries - I posted because I wanted to get information and see if I was doing something wrong as well. I honestly think sometimes High is better when battling than Very High, but that is just my opinion, no data to back that up yet anyway.
