How the hell are those conflicting promises?

2 promises..

I fulfill one, and dont fulfill the other..

Therefor conflicting..

I got him half of what he was promised, maybe he will only be half ******?

a conflicting promise would be that you have 2 promises and it is only possible to follow one of them. For instance, if you promised both your centers 30 mpg that would be conflicting because if you do one then you cant do the other.

1) I had the same situation happen to me last season and his WE change went from a +1 to a -2.

2) I actually agree with tmac this time. He has a valid point no matter how inconsequential it was to your main point.

3) No need to curse, dude. Even at tmac...

If you did not plan to start him and live up to the promise, why not just redshirt him? I recruited 2 bigs (both with a promise start.) If I had to I would start them both as I did in the first exhibition game, but tried to redshirt them. First guy dropped down to about 22 WE (acceptable) and the next guy said

Coach, based on this years team, I thought you may want to redshirt me. So I'm not surprised. I'd probably do the same if I was the coach!

Larry.

Worst case was you could redshirt him and then near the end take it off and let him start a few games. You lose a half season of improvements, but he won't transfer. Doing either these would have solved your issues. Always plan ahead if you can't live up to a promise.

I had 8 openings, I signed 3 PG a FR, a SO, and a JR.

I wanted to promise the start to the JR but I accidentally did to the SO..

The SO had 10 lower speed so I didnt t want to start him.

Well, he will transfer if you don't. If you want him why not start him and sub by FF and the player backing him up at tired? This is what I did on king's team. My FR PF is starting at SF playing like 14 MPG (promise start) with almost no distro. My back up FR SF is playing like 24 MPG.
