Is there a way to ensure that you go to the free throw line alot? It seems that I am either 30 FT more than my opponent (and have a much better chance of winning)... or 30 FT less than my opponent. Is it all in the gameplanning and forcing the ball down low? Or, are there ratings that make it more likely that a player will get fouled (ath/speed/etc.).

Should I focus on gameplanning or recruiting if I want to get to the FT line more often?

Thanks esteemed vets of the hardwood!

There are so many variables, it's hard to have a right answer to your question, but I'd say you're best bet is to try to compile a team with excellent ATH and SPD.

Sometimes things will also stick out during gameplanning, like when you've got a good scorer going against a weak defender with poor IQ, but as we all know, our best gameplanning often doesn't turned out as we hope in this game.

My Washburn team in DII Allen has pretty decent SPD for DII and so far this season we've had nearly double the free throw attempts of our opponents.

How much time do you guys usually spend on free throws in practice?

10-11 always. I used to be a 1st rnd nt team and never any furhter until I went with the high ath/spd guys. I used to go with higher other cores I now go spd

Before always 11-15 (depending on how low they start) but with potential I always go 8 for low, 11 for average and 15-20 for high. IMO, FT shooting is pretty big if you get to the line a lot. My thoughts on it is they are going to max out so I may as well max them out ASAP.

I've only been to the line 510 times this season in 25 games.

Going -2 on distro and having good ATH is the best way to get to the line I've observed.
