I just lost in the World Series. I wanted to demote a guy in his last option year after the season so he could start next year in the minors. But, since I played in the WS it went straight to no GM office after my last game. Am I screwed?

You can promote him next season without a penalty before spring training, but you can't make any moves once the WS is over in your current season.

Yes, you are screwed regarding the demotion. He will have 0 option years and have to pass thru waivers next season.
