But the guy projects to 57 Power! That ought to be worth more than some IF hits and an occasional line drive, shouldn't it?
He has good raw power, but he doesn't take good swings. If he had vL/vR in the 80s, he'd probably hit 25+ HRs. If he had splits in the 40s, he'd probably hit 12-15 HRs. But with these splits, he may not hit any HRs.

I think this is off a bit. Anthony Nen has a 55 power rating, with only 17 vs LH, 18 vs RH, and he hit 7 HR in 373 AB this past season. He did that with only an adequate eye (50) as opposed to this prospect's great eye (100) and poor contact (29) as opposed to this prospect's great contact (92). If he hits his proj, this guy would get some HR - I might guess around 15 per season in a neutral park.

I would expect your guy to put up numbers similar to Paulie Offerman if you platoon him vs r. Your batting eye, higher contact should make up for the lower splits and should pick up some infield hits with that speed.

I wouldn't really care about the HRs. It was a response to his only being capable on IF hits. I thought with that power # he would have some occasional gap power.

He'll probably get a few extra base hits, but not nearly as many as a guy with splits in the 30s or 40s.

No one outside of sitestaff would really know the answer to this question (and even they probably wouldn't) and no two owners value any particular rating exactly the same.

There are a number of other factors that come into play, including park(s), surrounding batters, manager settings, other individual players ratings. Removing all that, I'd generally value them in this order: batting eye, vsRH, vs LH. That said, I suspect most of the forum contributors will value vs RH the highest (I'm probably in the minority).

That guy will put up a near .400 OBP with a .250 avg and will be a fantastic option at SS.

That combination of speed, contact, and eye seems to produce great OBP numbers. If the guy can actually field SS, he is a keeper.

IMO there isn't much difference between a 70 rating eye and a 85 eye rating but there is a huge difference between an eye rated in the low 80's and one in the mid 90's. I'll take the 90 and up eye rating over the 90 rated L or R in most situations 75 or 80 on the other hand I'd rather have the R or L.
