Question: If you call up a guy from AAA when it's time to expand your roster, does that time count for him for arb? Also, if you demote him back down to AAA before spring training next year, will he take a hit because of it? Thanks

Technically, tec is correct. However, if you demote him during the playoffs this season, he will revert back to a minor league salary with no demotion penalty.

So if you wait to demote him after rollover he will continue with the ML salary? Also if you get knocked out of the playoffs, could you demote him then to revert him back to the minor league salary with no demotion hit?

Dammit. I could have said "Technically, tec is correct. However, you won't see the reduced salary until after rollover. Salaries never reduce in-season."
