I'm a noob at this. I want to know what affect stadium size has on my team. I want to put a team in my hometown but the stadium max capacity is only 7,500 people.

No effect whatsoever. Every team gets the same amount of money and home field advantage doesn't exist. The only effect a stadium can have is its outfield dimensions; things like stadium seating capacity are merely there for cosmetic reasons.
