My team is teetering around .500 around game 100 and I'm only 6 games out of first. I have the 2nd best ERA and WHIP in the league but the offense is pretty sparse. I have 2 guys in AAA I'm considering calling up Felipe Lee and/or Justin Helling. Both are 22, and ML ready but still have some room to improve (Lee especially, who I have projected at 82/94/91/66/87). Their development has begun to wane and both would fit in nicely to the ML team, I just wanted to get some input on whether I should call them up or not.

* I would be playing Lee at 1b and Helling at RF
* Another note to make is that current % for Lee and Helling are 95 and 90 and projected durability 86(+9) and 84(+5) respectively.

Heling is no 3rd baseman. It would help if you could tell us the projections. Although they look pretty good.

If they will help you win more games and make a run at the playoffs, absolutely.

Lee looks like a very good hitter. Helling . . . not so much. I'd like to see more power from a corner infielder, and he's also weak defensively.

I would think that you should be able to find a better alternative to Helling, maybe through trade.

If they are going to get regular ABs, and they're ready to perform at the ML level, there's no downside, imho.

Other than Helling being a pretty weak bat for a COF spot (not much speed, making him an iffy table-setter).

I dont know if 66 overall is ML ready. I've got 70-73 in my AAA that arent even ready to sniff the bigs.

OVR is no way to judge whether or not a guy is ready for the bigs.

I'd like Helling a lot if he could steal bases. He should hit for a nice BA and OBP, but agree with tec that he won't hit for power.

Lee looks like a potential star.
