Actually - the problem is not battling higher prestiges...
Its that most coaches just flat out stay away and make it way to easy for A prestiges to recruit (and carry over cash). Check out my Illinois team.... just landed the #1,5,12, and 36 overall rated recruits with 50k over. Not one coach challenged me. Now I have 4 top recruits and about 12k in carry over cash to do the same next season.
I respect a coach that makes a recruiting sacrifice to let the higher prestige know he will fight the losing battle. I've done it at GT to defend top recruits in my backyard. Hopefully it makes that higher prestige think twice in future seasons about going after your locals... or other coaches will catch on to the recruiting battle and try to snag that higher prestige's recruits. Now that said - sometimes its just plain stupidity to fight just to fight and lose. pick your battles.
