still trying to get a more accurate answer, for some reason my wording must be unclear, this seems to be a fairly easy ? on a fairly minor subject, doesn't it
Nothing is easy when it comes to getting the simple answers from CS, it is the huge complex ones they seem to have a fast answer to.

WIS has confirmed that an error was in fact made, and the player has been awarded to my team. I do believe there is currently a glich with recruiting, since this is the 2nd time in a row I have seen this kind of thing happening. And if you read this entire thread, you will see where others are having the same experiences. Hopefully WIS will figure out what is going on and get it fixed.

And just to be clear, I'm talking about the random, unexplained changes in messages from recruits when no additional recruiting efforts have been made. I think that is were the core of this problem currently exists.

You are lucky this was v a simmy, if it was v a human... this wouldn't have happened.

Great, now SIMAI is going to quit the game as a player he won in recruiting has now been placed on another team. this will create world chaos. thanks blazor.

after 4 swings, I am calling strike 4 and 'I'm out' on my attempt to get an answer about how sims recruit, seble generally is very straightforward with his responses to me, I might have gotten a CS support person instead of seble, as each of the 4 answers was doubletalk (at least seemed that way to me), although they did tell me that interantionals are handled the same way as everyone else, but since they told me nothing about how that might be, really not sure if that means anything.

SEems like my attempt to explain my exchange is as convuluted as the exchanges themselves.

If anyone is interested, I could post all 4 exchanges, but the most real interesting thing about that might be how frustrating asking ?'s of CS can be?

very suprised about the outcome of your ticket blazor, well done

I am dumbfounded. This opens a huge can of worms. How many times has this happened in error and how many teams have been affected? Hundreds? Thousands?

The thing that irritates me is that this is not a new game. We aren't in the developmental stages of a new game. There shouldn't be glitches like the miscalculation of RPI or the messages that recruits send out.

What we are seeing is that a great number of errors are being brought up by users. Isn't that like having readers proof read novel once it's has hit the shelves?

Fix it, micromonitor the game and be done with it. Is it more difficult than that? These are not subjective bad calls that we have to live with from time to time. How can this happen and no one have any clue?

I'm fairly certain that you were close, but you weren't in the lead. This has been discussed before where the same message (i.e. I could see my self playing there) doesn't give a clear answer, meaning that you could have been slightly losing or slightly winning when you received it. At any rate, too close.

He could certainly see himself at St. Bonny, but he might see himself at others schools too. I'm fairly certain most kids look forward to the signing period. You just don't know 100%. No where does he say he's money in the bank. Did you make another call or call his coach or send a package? I'm reading in all instances, the answer is no. Those things can provide more clarity, but as it was, I'm fairly certain you weren't in the lead. That particular message doesn't mean you were in the lead 100% of the time. It can sometimes, but not always. There are certain messages that could go either way. Most would want to spend an extra $100 to find out for sure.

Hey Rails,

If that is the case then I have another problem with this process. Based on the messages we get, there IS no way to be sure...ever! The how the hell are you supposed to know when you don't have to spend any additional funds? Spending an extra $100 does absolutely nothing to let you know for SURE. Based on the nature of the messages we get, there is no "sure". Because every single response we get comes with a less that 100% commitment to signing.

The bottom line for me comes down to this: If you receive a positive response, you should be able to assume it's in fact just that...a positive response until you receive a negative one. The messages should in fact be more clear so you know where you stand at that time. And the issue still remains that if a player changes his mind, one way or the other, you should get some kind of notification letting you know that. That way you have an opportunity to act in accordance.

Besides, based on my response from WIS, they acknowledge that something went wrong. And they are still "looking into it to see what happened", which obviously does me no good at this point since recruiting is now over. I'm just not happy about spending money for years in a world, only to have everything blown up over something so ridiculously vague.

Thanks for all the input guys. Think I'm just gonna step away a bit from WIS. Just don't feel like continuing to pour my money down a black hole just for nonsense like this to keep happening.

Nice catch Blazer. This has happened before and it was widely thought and perhaps even answered by CS in a way consistent with my response. It is very frustrating when things don't work properly and even more so for users to be the ones to point problems out. And perhaps pointing them out multiple times since it appears that some CS answers are inconsistant.

Similiar thing happened to me last week. Thought I was leading and then...

after I offered scholarship: Coach, I just can't say yes or now right now...I'm still supposed to take a campus visit of another school. I'd still like to learn more about your program too.

after three more home visits and scouting trip: Coach, thanks for the scholarship offer - I wish I could sign right now!

then the email: Coach, you're too late. I've already signed with another school. Thought you would have heard by now.

Listed in FSS as "struggling between" the entire time.
