Tank and get a top 5 pick.

There's not much to it. You take the best players, you rank 'em high. You take the worst players, you rank 'em low. Your selections will probably come in descending order of goodness. Glad I could help.

Pay attention to signability, health, durability, control, batting eye.

Don't go solely by overall ratings, which is the default if you set no options and don't manually rank.

If you want a good pick after 15-18, you really need to budget 14-15 million in scouting in both HS and College. Otherwise your projections and player pool won't be very accurate.

Why, so you can still not get the best player because you cant see him?

Sorry for being the spelling nazi but it's amateur. As in 'amateur night' or even 'amateur draft'.

With that out of the way, value pitching over hitting. As someone else said ignore overall, but focus on the actual ratings pertinent to hitters and pitchers. If a proj. 75 ovr has better pitching ratings than an 85 ovr, draft him. And set your scouting budgets as high as you can, to see more players and more accurate projections.
