The context of that paragraph (and the entire thread) is how the FF setting limits minutes. I even spell it out 2 sentences later how I would prefer dividing up playing time differently. I draw your attention back to....
The first post of the thread ponders the following:
"are we just too afraid of the fatigue settings to play a player when they are "tired?" I know I am, and that is why I never take a player down there, but really, how much would his ability be affected by playing him at that level?"
It's not about the levels so much as why do we not play guys when they are tired? And JD's answer of "I think I remember some anecdote about how admin -- a long time ago -- ran a simulation of 2 teams with the same ratings across the board (think it was 99) that played heads up a bunch of times. The fresh team subbed at FF, the tired team subbed at VT. The avg. margin of victory was like 50 pts." - was exactly the type of stuff I was looking for.
Based on the above, it would seem that the more tired a player gets, their productivity significantly drops off (like more than 10-15% of their value at each step down, I would guesstimate).

I am only "blasting" you because you have a tendency to consistently take things out of context and make something an argument. I appreciate your willingness to assist people on the boards, but too often you make something an "I'm right, your wrong." It gets old. Especially when the whole point of this thread was to invite good and open discourse. If somebody has to worry that you are going to twist their words every time they type something, they will be more reluctant to engage.
