I've signed up for multiple seasons and have the option of the future stars service. How does this service work, what are the advantages, and is it worth $1k for a D3 coach?

It shows a players potential in all rating categories. The cost is based on the number of unsigned recruits in the given state that is scouted.

If you're just starting out, stay close to home. Buy the states within 300 miles if they have significant numbers of DIII players that you would want to recruit. If you don't use the service it's a crap shoot on whether the players you recruit will have decent growth during their career. You should balance decent starting ratings with trying to get high potential in core categories. Average potential is ok if they start at a decnt rating. Good luck, it may take a couple tries at this to get a good feel for how it all works. Look at the teams in your conference and see how the good teams differ from the bad teams. Oh and read the pinned guides, they're a great resource of info.

And always make sure that the recruits you sign, have a High or Avg potential for the key ratings in that position. The last thing you wanna do is sign a C with a LP of 35 with LOW potential and so on and so fourth

Its a must for recruiting.

Learned something new this recruiting period. If you are waiting for dropdowns after signing period starts, the cost for FSS goes down as recruits get signed and remaining pool of players decrease. Should have been common sense, but I just realized it..... Doh.....
