Did I pick the right PF Topic

D2 IBA. I had commitments in both these PFs and had to pick one.

Russell Quinn -535 - 49A, 30SP, 46RB, 75D, 72BK, 53LP, 30PE, 13BH, 7P, 42WE, 57ST, 61DU, 59.0FT - #186PF

Kenny Edwards - 576 - 52A, 48SP, 55RB, 16D, 56BK, 41LP, 29PE, 39BH, 35P, 72WE, 68ST, 65DU, 71.7FT - NR

Potential

Russell Quinn - High in A, D, BK, and ST. Low in BH and FT
Kenny Edwards - High in A, RB, and ST. Low in P and FT

I cancelled Edwards scholly and went with Quinn. Edwards got snatched up quickly afterwards. I chose Quinn because I see the potential for 99 ratings in both D and BK and a good A to boot. But Edwards had the FT and WE to go w/ good potential for high A and RB. And now I'm starting to feel regrets because I run motion and Quinn may get to a 20P at best.

I did sign a future All-American C and a solid PG to go w/ Quinn, but now I'm thinking I chose the wrong PF.

Neither is great, but if would have picked Edwards, unless I play a M2M defense.

you're kidding, right? Those are 2 top notch D2 PFs! Both will be over 700 rating when they graduate.

I'm thinking Edwards too now. :(

I guess you're comparing them to the guy you got... Stonebreaker. Yeah, he's solid. Wait till you see this C I got. Adler. He has high potential in 6 categories including his 4 cores. I can't wait to watch him grow.

Edwards. A high potential in a category is not guarenteed to go for more then 25 points in 4 seasons. with edwards we I think he would have fit for me as a good player as jr or senior

Agree with mniven, unless you play the M2M (where the D ratings would really matter), I would have gone with Edwards.

My bad, hacker. I didn't see the DII part (did it says DII IBA when you started the thread?).

Since it's DII, I wouldn't lose any sleep over the decision, as both will obviously be studs. Although I hate recruiting big men without high potential in REB.

Edwards.
11/6/2009 10:59 AM
yup. I chose wrong. And another perennial power, Wilmington (byoungjr) snatched Edwards up after I canceled his LOI.

Oh and I run zone press, but recruit defense anyway... and it's paid off as my team is routinely in the Top 10 in FG% DEF in D2 Iba.

I wouldn't touch a big with 46 REB and avg potential EVER!

I would project said player maxing out around 60. Unless (at d2) his Ath was going to be elite (85+) I would not either.

I will now go light myself on fire.
11/6/2009 4:50 PM
Sorry hack I don't mean that in a bad way. Live and learn it is how all of us have learned to play.
11/6/2009 4:51 PM
Now I see why I have been NT runner-up 2 of the last 4 years.
11/6/2009 4:52 PM
I liked Stonebraker but I knew he was too far south for me to reach for him. Hacker, both will be good. Just be glad you had 2 quality options.

Also, Adler looks very good. Prize recruit there.
