injury without mention in game thread Topic

I just lost my lock-down closer for 158 days due to a knee injury. Strange this is he closed the game out and the boxscore had no mention of the injury. In 27 seasons I don't remember seeing an injury without a box score mention. Anyone out there had this happen?

Yes, it can happen. Not all injuries happen during a game.

It is my impression that all off-the field injuries are reported to you in cycle 2. Does anyone else have evidence to verify/refute that?

If I'm right about the above, then if the injury was reported to you in cycle 1 you should send a ticket, because it may be that injuries on the last play of the game aren't making it into the boxscore, and they'd want to fix that. If the injury was reported to you in cycle 2 it's definitely an off-the-field injury, and I've never seen one anywhere near that severe, but they do occur.

That was my first thought, that the injury occured on the last play of the game. Numerous times I have had a pitcher strike a guy out and somehow get injured in the process and it'll say "x player" was injured on the previous play. So maybe because the game was over at that point, there is a glitch that doesn't put it into a boxscore

I have seen this before. I believe there logic is that it is like diagnosing torn ligaments. The player is diagnosed after the game.

do we have to wait until the next cycle to see how many days you are going to be out?

You are in two WS right now...hope that doesn't hurt your chances.
