Pennies from heaven? Topic

Wow, where do I start?

In Uecker, we had a team that had somehow spent 150K over its Player Payroll up thru and after the am draft. An attempt was made to trade him 400k for a RL player so he would net out to 250K or so in player payroll so he'd have the salary to sign his am draft guys (He has plenty of prospect payroll for bonuses). The deal got vetoed after much discussion, but then, mysteriously he had signed all but 2 of his draftees and he had a surplus of 650K in player payroll. I asked the owner and he said he had no idea how it happened! Checking his transactions noone was waived or traded. So how could the money have been raised?

I've checked budgets to see if money was transfered from Prospect Payroll (or any other category) but it hasn't.

I've sent in a ticket, but am curious if anyone else has experienced this?

its happened to me just this season in one of my worlds. i'm not really sure how it happened but i didnt care enough to send in a ticket or anything. post the response when and if you receive it.

stiller, can you describe what happened?

Doesn't simmy auto-sign a bunch of guys to fill out the rookie league roster? And if there's not enough money, he'll auto-transfer (without penalty) from one of the budgets (not sure which one)?

I'm guessing that's what happened. And because the budget transfer happens without penalty, there's no apparent "trail" of it happening on the finances page.

As far as I can tell, his budget is still the same.

He currently has $98.2M in player payroll, after what I suspect was an auto-transfer got him from 100 to 99 in player payroll in order to bump up his coach payroll from 12 to 13 ($ spent on coaches = 12.6).

I'm at a loss... although the auto-signing makes sense, there is money that has gone missing.

Or did I read it wrong, and his excess coach hiring budget covered these signings?

No he received exactly 1 mil out of thin air. $1m less the 150k that he was over, less 200k to sign approx 23 RLers leaves him with his current $650k surplus.

He spent 12.6 on coaches which necessitated his 1-1 transfer from Player Payroll to coaching, ie from 12 to 13 and 100 to 99.

I've also noticed that in some cases if you promote a minor leaguer to the Majors it seems to let you go over the budget too.

When a player payroll goes over the limit, the site adjusts the payroll from another budget line item. It happens automatically, but there isn't a trail to see it. It just drops $1 million from a line item and increases payroll by that number.

WIS has given the order from where each successive million is taken from, but I don't really remember it. I believe it starts with $1 million from prospect, then scouting, then training, and then medical, but don't quote me on the order.
