I believe they shut everything down dec 25th, if I remember correct from past seasons.

Nope. One of my most special holiday memories was that cold Christmas morning three years ago, when I'd taken over a wreck of a team and made initial offers to minor league free agents while my wife got madder and madder.

They do not. Once, many years ago, they shut down for a couple of days around a holiday for "site upgrades". I think they just wanted a problem free holiday.

Mountain Dew actually came out my nose....

I still agree with Mike. If I'm Canadian and I come to America and for some reason Starbucks is closed on December 25th, you can't complain that you can't get a mocha grande late black because it's not a holiday in Canada, or Turkey or Thailand.

And like Mike has said over and over again, it's a placeholder day. Promote/demote all you want, trade, do whatever you want. No games would be played on those days, that's all....

What day is Christmas in Canada?

I was simply trying to imply that we can't satisfy all ethnicities...

To be true, Christmas is not an America only holiday. Christmas is observed all over the world on different days or over many days, or not at all.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas_worldwide#United_States_and_Canada

And besides the point, all this is for naught as none of this will ever happen...

That may have been your intention, but by specifically naming a country that even your link describes as being "essentially the same" as American Christmas, you kind of leave yourself open to ridicule and undermine any chance of being taken seriously.

To be clear: Canada celebrates Christmas on December 25th, too.... in case you were wondering.

I never planned on being taken serious. Remember, this is the HBD forums....

Christmas is no longer a holiday, it's a season.

Sorry, Jesus.

Jesus forgives you.

Hahaha. Both brickyard9 and myself remembered and referenced that season earlier in this thread. We all took over our franchises in Mays that year. It was my first so I had no idea what I was doing anyway. However, the image of wives getting increasingly angry every time you slipped away to 'check something' never goes away. Good times.

You guys are dumb. Just do something stupid when she wants you to help and she'll say "Get out of the way. I'll do it myself!"

Then you're free to do what you want as she doesn't even want you in her sightline.

I try to fart especially loudly when helping. That usually gets me the boot almost instantly.
