you lack offense from your catcher and second base positions. , and other than 1B, 3B and RF, your offense is mediocre to slightly above average at best. You have a couple of very good players in Dusty Mann (though 9 million is a steep price tag) and Alvin Alexander. I like Middlebrook's offensive ratings, but you can probably do even better than that at 1B -- I would prefer him as a weak defensive fielder and try to get an even bigger bat at first. The rest of your team is solid utility players but not true everyday starters on championship caliber tams.

And i would dump that backup catcher - I could understand him on your team if your starter was weak defensively, but with a solid defensive starting catcher, I would prefer a wealk defensive backup who has a big bat off the bench.

I think you've undervalued splits, especially the vR, since roughly 2/3 of pitchers are RH.

actually, and i havent made a big deal of this in the forums yet, but recently I have been treating vsR for both hitters and pitchers as the #1 rating I look for, and its proven pretty sucessful to date. Obviously, you need a few guys with high vsL's for when you face ies, but vsR may in fact be the most important rating out there, especially now that the steroid era is over.

You don't have a lot of high-contact guys or high batting eye guys -- 80+.

So you probably have more Ks and DPs than you want, and that kills rallies.

I've been doing much the same... and have found that as long as your lineup isn't a bunch of glorified platoon hitters, you'll probably be fine.
