Does this make sense?

In Ron Cey, the two premier young Cs are asking for $6M and $6.5M in arbitration. The first guy has an OVR of 77, while the second has an OVR of 80. Each is 27.

Compare this to two league-average COFs. The first, who is 29, has an OVR of 81, and is asking $9.5M. The second, who is 27, has an OVR of 81 and is asking $9.9M.

The only difference I can see is that the two LFs are in their 3rd year of arbitration, while the two Cs are in their second year. But a C with an 80 rating is rare, while a COF with an 80 rating is very good, but not exceptional. It seems to me that the OFs are asking for more than they should -- there aren't that many COFs who earn $9.5M or more -- while the two Cs are probably asking for less than they should.

Am I missing something?

Did you read what you posted? If so, I think you should know what you're missing.

You're attempting to compare apples to marbles.

I figured that was the main reason for the $3M gap.

But at the same time, it seems the COFs are asking for way too much. They got $6.5M and $6.6M last season in arbitration -- that's more than the Cs are looking for this season. And again, an 80 COF is not unusual. An 80 C is.
