It's not a "bug". It happens because of an uneven amount of teams.

Actually there are an even number of teams. 12 in each conference last I checked.... It is a bug,

It is not a bug. It occurs when there are an uneven number of sim AI team-games that need to be scheduled.

A bug is something that happens that isn't intended. This is fully intended and has been part of the game from the very beginning. It's the SIM's way of ensuring that every team plays at least 10 games.

Gentlemen we can argue semantics, yes it is true that is has been put in as a fix. The current scheduler does not effectively schedule the EVEN number of teams so that on occasion teams are unscheduled for 10 games.
I guess the proper term is that it is a workaround of a bug in original programming.

Bug- A software bug is the common term used to describe an error, flaw, mistake, failure, or fault in a computer program or system that produces an incorrect or unexpected result, or causes it to behave in unintended ways.

It is not necessary and could be fixed. There are an even number of teams and they could be scheduled to play 10 games each. This was just an easier fix.

Good gracious

Not to mention that I have seen teams end up with only nine NC games and teams play conference mates in the "non-conference" portion of the schedule.

Good graciou
No it isn't the system it is the users that are allowed to schedule games against whoever they want that cause this, not the engine itself, call it a fix if you want but it is a needed one. Otherwise many teams wouldn't get 10 games.

Are there some teams floating around somewhere with only nine NC games?

Never mind. I just looked up and saw the answer to my question.
