A+ prestige - when best to recruit? Topic

Is there any sort of consensus out there as to when the ideal time is for a A+ prestige school to recruit? Are the best players going to be there early, right out of the shoot? Or will players just as good continue to trickle down for a couple days?

Early. Right about 24 hours into recruiting is when I had the best success. Waiting longer allows the A/A- schools to get in there.

I agree. I would start out during the first cycle by sending out calls to your primary targets to see who would consider you as a backup and then follow-up with scouting visits to see if you can get on their considering list before the lower prestige schools can see them.

Yep, the only risk of the scouting visit strategy is that some D2 school comes onto the guy 12-24 hours in, after you have invested and pushes you off.

Yep..reinsel that just happened to me..had 15 scout visits in and a low prestige d2 school came in...

Yeah that can happen. You can then battle them, but that can be expensive.

The D2 filter down effect happens a lot. It happens even more in D1 as the top 25 guys get organized, then the 25-50 guys and so on and the lower prestige teams keep getting kicked off recruits and going lower and lower on the ladder.

As long as the guy is close you can jump on guys right away. The vast majority of people will see your prestige and know they don't have a distance advantage and will generally back off.

Early. Pull guys down with your prestige so you can keep winning and keep it up there. If you recruit right you should be playing with different guys than everyone else is

jump on close guys right away, fill out classes later on with guys from farther away that drop to you first and don't have local a+ teams to jump on them.

Yea especially at D2 I like to get my guys within the first couple cycles of recruiting. I have the guys identified before recruiting then just send the phone calls and take the best guys that respond favorably to being pulled down.
