Advice needed - I have like $2300 in my budget for recruiting and need 5 players. Signings start tonight. I only have 1 player interested in us. Will some players become interested once signing begins? Should I wait at this point before I spend any more money? I only have 1 SF, 1 PF and 0 Centers, and I have gone on a number of home visits and scouted a ton of them. The player that is interested is a SF, so I am going to focus on PF and C. Any advice would be great. This is just my second year, and my team was decent last year, going 15-14. What would be the cheapest way to get some of the players I have scouted and/or gone on home visits to become interested? Or will this just happen naturally once signings start and some of the players start running out of options they thought they had? Most of the players I have recruited are fairly local - within 300 miles.

I would probably wait until signing starts, where you can get someone cheaper, and target only people very close to you - as in less than 100 miles - and go for. . . only four players and accept one walkon. Or possibly three players and take two walkons, to divide the money among less.

First thing is - DELETE this post. Never post how much money that you have during recruiting.

2nd thing, it sounds like you wasted lots of cash by throwing scouting trips and home visits all over the place. You only want to put them into a small number of recruits, and be sure to put enough into each to get them to consider you.

With 5 openings count on at least one walk-on and focus on putting a few more home visits (and sholarship offers) into only 2-3 more recruits, so you have 3-4 on your considering list. If no other team puts cash into them, you will sign them at the start of signings.

If they are not considering you now, you need to put in more effort, they will not start considering you without it.

If I were you I would sitemail a vet coach or three well before posting anything like this in the forums.

Have you offered scholarships to your targets?

No need to delete it. Sounds like a new coach so he wouldn't be targeting anyone worth stealing.



Now, just find some players and offer a 'ship and either 2 home visits or 1 campus visit (whichever is cheaper) you can also do a 30 min/promise start and some calls,coach calls,letter if you plan on starting a young player. This will get a guy locked up/signed for about 300.

WIth his lack of post players it looks like he could definitely promise starts to at least one.

Promise starts with a scholarship, especially to those that you have been recruiting already but just won't seem to consider you yet.

You coudl promise starts to at least one and likely minutes to a few others as depth in the post.
