Yes, I found Merkle's description. It looks and reads great. I plugged in the numbers but got the reply "no matches found".

power =1 (0-.5 hr/100)
contact = 10 (23 h/ 100 ab)
speed = 8 (70-79)
endurance = E (300-350 ab)

fielding = C/D/B-

What step am I missing to find out the identity of this mystery man?

Stamina (endurance) is based on PA, not AB.

It looks like your man is:

1920 Earl Smith with 301 PA.
