looking for a pricing range for starting players example position players and starting and closing pitchers. to start of say players with at least 6 years of ML expierence. seems like price range some are asking is getting out of hand

Their demands are based on OVR, and some suggest that previous FA signings can influence it, too.

Define "out of hand"...?

so i guess its up to the owners what is right or wrong
12/21/2009 11:12 AM
Of course it is. If a player asks too much, he doesn't get signed. If he doesn't ask for enough, the owners will bid him up to secure his services.

the owners are the ones that offer the contracts.

The cost of players is determined by the free market.

... and that is different in every world.

Im guessing they won't play for a penny less than they're asking for?

There are a couple of players that have been a FA for a few years that would be great role players for AAA through HiA... but they still want a major league contract for a few hundred thou. I try to offer a minor league deal... and I always get an error message.

if you offer a minor league deal the max you can offer is the minor league minimum I think it is 54,500 , if they are asking for a major league deal, they will not accept a minor league deal

I cant figure out how much to offer. I keep getting "a minor league deal will default to one year's salary, no bonus"

leave the amount blank when offering a MiLB contract and just press submit....that about all that you can do. You can also offer them a ST invite.
