Boosters Complaining Topic

I'm going into my 5th year at a DI school and I received an email that I was in trouble and my status is now "Boosters Complaining". What does this really mean and how does it effect me and my program?

The funny thing is I just went 23-4 last season and 15-1 in my conference. We won the conference regular season championship and I was named conference coach of the year. I did lose in the conference tournament and we weren't invited to a post season tournament.

I can't find any info on this topic so any info would be appreciated.

Boosters complaining is one step above "In Jeopardy". From what I've seen/read, it takes about 1-2 seasons In Jeopardy before you lose your job. Other than possibly being fired, this has no effect. It will not affect recruiting or anything like that. You need to make the post-season and your status should improve.

The key is that you are not at the "In Jeopardy" level yet. That's when you really have to worry. What you need to do is schedule carefully this season for next year. Triple digit RPIs aren't doing anything to impress your boosters or the selection committees. You need a schedule that gives you 5-6 road games at minimum because road wins count more and road losses hurt you less. You also need to play humans that will have winning records and decent RPIs themselves. Of course winning your CT would work too. Good Luck.

When I am at a low level D1 school I always schedule to get 20 wins. That might mean a cup-cake OOC, but if that is what is needed I will do it. 20 wins is where your prestige gets a tad extra bump and I would assume your boosters aren't going to be complaining as much.

Also I do schedule most of my ooc on the road in that position. Also by scheduling to win 20 games you will be able to increase your HCA.

agree with all said - and will add that you gotta get to the postseason - and above advice will help that

Just to clarify what I said, my main goal for the first 2-3 years at a school is winning 20 games each year, the postseason is mearly a bonus. If you can do that you can get your prestige into the C- range and likely increase your recruiting ability.

Thanks for all the advice. I will work to improve my rpi. It doesn't help that I play in a conference that only had four live coaches last season. I didn't think my out of conference schedule was that bad but it obviously was since my rpi never moved.

I did win 23 games last season and 18 the year before and regular season conference championships each season.

Thanks

I did see that you won 18 games, the difference between 18 and 20 is fairly significant IMO, just a thought.
