Non Qualifier Transfering Topic

If a player who was a non-qualifier thus ineligible for his true freshman year, is there still a possibility of him being able to play that 5th season?

In D3, I think he'll always stay for his 5th year. In D2, I'm not sure what the rule is, but at least sometimes, the player will stay. I think in DI, he has to achieve a 2.7 GPA or higher to stay the 5th year. Another coach may have a little more definitive knowledge.

Well, in DIII there are no ineligibles. Even players listed as ineligible play right away. And in DII, they've just gotta maintain a 2.0 gpa. Players in DI/DII almost always come back for a 5th season, but there have been occasional exceptions.

I believe I have seen this a couple times, where a coach cuts a guy who was Inel his first year and that player can be recruited again and will play 4 years. D3 dalter said it all. But for D2 and D1 most stay unless they leave early for the NBA. I'm sure there are instances where guys who are non NBAers will not come back for their 5th season but I have never seen it.

In DII, ineligible players have to sit out their first season and then will play 4 seasons. All they need is a 2.0 GPA. In DI, they need a 2.7 GPA and then it is their option whether to come back or not. I have had players not return.
