Promote in ST or in season? Topic

Does it make any difference to player ratings if I promote minor leaguers before spring training, during, or after the season has started? I didn't think it did, but I have a hazy memory of seeing some speculative posting on the topic several months back.

I assume you're talking about promoting to the majors.

Nothing to do with ratings, but a potential "gotcha". I'd recommend waiting until after ST is over. You don't want to promote to the majors and then have the guy get injured and start accruing ML service time from the DL.

wait 20 games into the season and avoid starting the arbitration clock for an extra year.
