Promises/ redshirt loophole closed Topic

I agree with the change, I disagree with the implementation. Here is my note to CS :

"Also, redshirted players will now be included in the pool of players who may complain if they're not getting their promised minutes/starting spot. "

While I agree with this change, I dont agree with rolling it out to worlds who have already redshirted players. Coaches in those worlds were playing by the current rule set. You can't go back and change that after they have redshirted players with promises. IF they had known this change was coming they probably would have redshirted a different player. WIS HD should never institute changes that retroactively go back and affect teams. This one currently does.

They FINALLY did something about this. I was doing the RS thing 25 seasons ago and telling everyone about it. It was not some sort of huge advantage to pull a RS at the end of a season to avoid promises, but it was an obvious flaw.

shucks, I just discovered this this season by accident - I redshirted wrong kid, but when I got the email from him saying it was a good idea, I figured, hey, lets see where this goes...

Not that I care either way, just figured more coaches would get 'attacked' for opening up about it the same way I did. Why nothing towards them?

Anyone care to answer?

They haven't responded with stupidity after being called a cheater. Cheater.

Makes me wonder how many other coaches are using the little secrets I know about, but are keeping quite. I've always felt like only a select few used the same tactics I used, but this has me wondering now. Maybe I should join the same boat and keep the advantages off the forums. Seems like its fine for all the vets to use it if they keep silent about it, but its the end of the world when I use it. I've got my ownguesses as to why, but I'd love to hear what I did was so differently then they did, aside from the fact they were not open about it and I was.

I've noticed this for a long time. When I had 2 names in the same world, it was 10 page thing of how I am a cheater. Nothing towards (al?) when he played himself in the NT. What about the coaches (gil, brian etc) who have 2, 3 or even 4 names in that world? It is funny that what some coaches do is perfectly fine, but when other coaches do the same thing/similar its not. I could go on all day with examples or me compared to someone else doing the same thing, but ya'l get the picture. Anyone care to answer?

I would absolutely LOVE to hear your guesses on this...............

Why do I all of sudden feel like I'm the only stiff who pays his taxes.

Again, they also never got called a cheater.

Its actually quite simply. Seeing as this has been posted on the forums at least 3 different times that I can remember, and one being within the last few months and nobody cared it just shows people only care if its certain people posting.

If I were zhawks posting I'm going to try to find out how to bypass getting caught using gifts, you don't think everyone would say its because I can't win the right way etc? No big deal at all if he says it.

Some top coaches are now admitting using the same thing I have, yet nobody has said anything about it and probably wont.

If I was Gil with 3 accounts in 1 world, people would question it. He now has 2 in div I, but nobody cares. It would be 100% different if his account says furry_nipps.

Alblack (I think?) was the coach who played himself in the NT. I am sure there have been others, but this is the only I've seen openly talk about it. Again, name was furry_nipps CS would be blown up with tickets to not give me the reward points or whatever.

Why? Everyone has there own reason, which nobody has said yet. My guess is simply because of the pas and nobody can accept the fact I have past them in terms of success and knowledge in the game. I can't figure out a way to word it any better and I know nobody will admit to it. Everyone use to try and post my record and look at what I never did. This use to be my brothers account the first few seasons, but everyone just brushed the 1 PIT 1st round loss and no NT the first however many seasons. They thought I knew nothing, and I think deep down they still view me that way. When I figure out something they don't know, its because its cheat codes and not out smarting them.

Nobody would suggest Gil lose his titles for the same thing I've done + more. Nobody would do the same for coaches playing each other in the NT. They can't accept that of all people its me who has passed them in the game. Its me who has more national titles. Any way they can switch the topic from I'm a better coach to I'm a cheater and can't win the right way they will jump all over them. It is there little way of admitting I am better at HD then they are, without having to really admit it.

Now, this was not a shot at anyone. You asked, I told. As I said, I don't know of any better way of wording it. But, when I see all these coaches trying to say because of what I did 1 season (a player who has only played 3 games as a back up) and to say my national champ games should mean nothing etc is a joke. IF it was really that big of a deal these other coaches would be called cheaters and the same treatment would be thrown to them. Its not. It is not what I/we did, but the fact that I did it. It was never 'cheating' when they talked about admitted doing it on the forums.
12/31/2009 7:28 PM
They're all cheaters, but you're a cheater and a dikhead, so that's why people single you out. Surprised you haven't figured that out yet.

I couldn't agree more. I think it's awful that this would be changed mid season without any warning. Is there anything that can be done to appease a DIII RS now complaining about not getting playing time (the same one that originally said he thought it was the right move to get RS'ed)? Had folks known of this change, they definitely would have RS'ed differently this season.
