I got a team that is horrible. I had nothing down on the farm. I am about to start year 2 with them. is it a good or bad thing to put young kids in the majors and let them play? For example, i drafted a stud pitcher and he ended the season at low A. is it a big deal to just put him in the ML rotation due to the fact that we won't compete this year anyway and i will probably have a higher rated pitching coach at the big league level anyway?

Whether "rushing" players stunts growth is an issue many forum users disagree on. Most, but far from all, think that if the player isn't playing "above his head" talent-wise and is seeing regular playing time, then he will not be harmed from a development standpoint.

That said, is *is* a big deal because a large part of this game is finance management, and (if you put him in the ML now) by the time you're ready to win at the ML level, the stud pitcher is going to be demanding the big bucks, making it harder for you to surround him with the talent to win.

i don't see a good reason to waste his cheap years while he's a) not yet fully developed and b) the team isn't competing anyway

i'm in the camp that believes he would develop about as well in the majors if he isn't getting crushed, that said i still think he'd be better off in the minors for another year or 3 while you get your ML ready to compete

Gross oversimplification, but the team with the most really good pieces making < $400K wins. Keep him down until you are ready to compete.
