WHich point guard? Topic

I have two point guards:

PG one: Sophomore, b in offense, b- in defense
Athleticism 47
Speed 90
Rebounding 10
Defense 49
Perimeter 32
Ball Handling 74
Passing 84
Stamina 91
FT Shooting C

PG two, Freshman, d+ offense, c defense

Athleticism 45
Speed 92
Rebounding 22
Defense 48
Perimeter 42
Ball Handling 81
Passing 87
Stamina 69
FT Shooting D-

RAting wise, I'd say the second woudl be the starter, even if his minutes are limited by his (Current) stamina. . .but does the worse IQ in the offense and defense overcome the advantages PG 2 has over PG one in ratings?

Im a strong believer in IQ. Id start A until the other one gets his off iq to B- range

I never start true freshmen at PG

THat what I am doing now, I've just never had a situation where they were otherwise this close: Usually I've had the starter obvious, one way or the other.

I don't think this is close. Ath/speed/bh/passing are fairly even and neither play above average def or can hit an outside shot. Player A no brainer.

I would definitely start #1. The advantages that the freshman has are very minor. B to D+ iq for a pg is huge. I think it's a no-brainer, at least for the time being.

Was my thought. Just seeing if others confirmed it.

I think this may be overlooked, but I would go with the sophomore who has a much higher stamina rating. Never thought I would say such a thing.

Yah. Other guy has a high stamina potential, so I'm not ruling out starting by the end of the season or beginning of next, but one is starting for now. Just was wondering how much of a difference in ratings is worth a letter grade in IQ.

Who has the higher overall rating ;)?

A start this season, probably B will overtake A by next as IQ and STA catch up...
1/3/2010 8:49 PM
PG -1 for now, until player 2 catches up in iq's. Player 2 should see some good minutes off the bench against 2nd squads.

PG two, he needs the starts/playtime with his low WE.

play both at fairly fresh and PG 1 will end up playing 21-23 minutes off the bench since PG 2 has low stamina.

Now that is an interesting possibility. At the very least one I might indulge in games where I have a big advantage.

I personally don't think that higher IQ quite makes up for the difference in BH.* This is D1 right? 74 just won't cut it against even decent teams in my mind. I would start the freshman (option 2), but I see that I am in the minority. I do agree with T-Mac than the minutes should be very close (probably will be due to the freshman's lack of stamina).

*I should preface by saying I think IQ is highly overrated in the current engine.
