One additional important piece of info. Recruiting costs vs. distance is not a linear function. Its more of a step function for the you math majors.
0-200 is pretty linear, then a big jump to 210-350 then a big jump at 360 and the its pretty linear to around 1500 or something.
Basically 400 miles and 800 miles are almost the same, but 340 and 370 are like 50% different. And 190 vs. 210 is about 30% different.
So unless you are sure you won't be challenged, recruiting at more than 350 miles is pretty tough without a prestige advantage.
