Playing time and IQ Topic

I submitted a ticket asking about the effects of practice time and playing time on IQ. This was my response:

"IQ is only affected by practice minutes so they won't improve in triangle unless you practice it."

This seems to conflict with the FAQ, which reads, "With regards to the offenses and defenses, the more practice and playing time a player receives under each set, the better the offense will function with regards to efficiency and the same holds true on defense.

If the ticket is correct, then two players of equal work ethics -- one playing 40 minutes a game, the other zero -- would improve at the same rate. That doesn't make sense.

This, also, would be true: a player who is practicing one offense but playing another in the games would never improve in his "game offense," regardless of how many minutes he is getting.

its hard to know what to make of that answer from support - but they do seem to say that

ON THE OTHER HAND, it is observable that players do improve at least a tiny bit in schemes that they dont run OR practice

many folks have hypothesized that playing AGAINST a certain offense or defense may add a tiny bit to IQ in that scheme - just a hypothesis....

I'm in the process of changing offenses, so my team is practicing the new one and playing the old one (which the seniors are used to). I've played 13 games. My four freshmen are all Fs in the game offense despite averaging 12-18 mpg. I haven't seen ANY improvement whatsoever.

Players do improve with PT, push cs more about it and they will say it. It appears you got a simple auto response that is not accurate it unfortunetly happens a lot with low level cs.

My suggestion to you would have been to have the offense be practiced for 4-5 games with 40 mins in it just to get the freshman out of the F range in to the D or C. Then switch back to the offense that you want to switch to. Thats just my thought though.

But ya I understand what your saying after looking at your team with all Fs for the IQ.

I don't believe the IQ will go up just because you play an offense you don't practice.

But you will see some of those F's eventually switch to D-. But that small jump will take probably close to two full seasons. And fd343ny mentions in an earlier post that some believe your opponent O/D affects that small bump.

The primary factors in determining the rate of IQ improvement is the; 1) players Work Ethic and, 2) the players high school gpa. You also see a small bump with more playing time or starts. And of course increased PT also increases the WE. But that PT bump is fairly small, possibly less than 5%.

Well, geez, even if it's an auto response, it should at least be correct!

I know that they announced awhile back that PT would help IQ improvement. Personally, I really haven't seen it. If it's there, it's extremely small.
