What, generally, are the lower limits of ball handling and passing that you would take for someone playing small forward? Or on a larger scale, what are you generally looking for in a small forward? I know plenty say rebounding, so I can predict rebounding high, which means many will say Athleticism high. . but after that, what woudl be the order of preference?

It's a small forward - not little or big - so really I go for balance. But in reality I just try for the bestest/closest one I can get! More high potential categories and high WE help push the numbers up.

do you have any 6'4 SG. i played one there this season on my team.

You got a pretty athletic and fast team there 4green2. I'll trade you potts my pg for one of those guards hehe.

In DIII I look for another SG with decent rebounding or a PF with decent BH/PE.

Well, my main thought was really. . how badly would a low BH or passing hurt you on a player that otherwise has some of what you want at SF? I was thinking of giving a backup post player I have whose rebounding is a bit weak for a post, but would be quite respectable for a small forward, only his BH and Passing are low.

Athleticism 53
Speed 46
Rebounding 44
Defense 41
Shot Blocking 69
Low-post   41
Perimeter  17
Ball Handling   19
Passing 26
Stamina 75

He isn't a starter, but I was wondering if he coudl play some minutes at SF productively.

I think he looks ok. Especially if his BH and PE are improvable.

You could play that guy at SF, especially with him coming off the bench. Just keep his distribution fairly low as he doesn't have good offensive statistics anyhow. But ath/spd/reb all look good enough and his shotblocking could be interesting at the SF spot.

I started a guy very much like that at SF this past season on my Tark D3 Greensboro team, only with better rebounding and worse shotblocking:

Athleticism 50
Speed 49
Rebounding 65
Defense 47
Shot Blocking 40
Low-post 35
Perimeter 1
Ball Handling 30
Passing 21
Stamina 87

There was plenty of scoring elsewhere so I kept his distro at 1 or 0...in 21 mpg he averaged 2.4 pts on 55% shooting(mostly putbacks), 5.8 rbs, and had a surprising 1:1 A:T ratio(averaged 1.1 of each) on a Final Four team.

I've been playing a natural PF at SF for 1/2 the season in D3 Rupp. He has 22 Bh and 17 passing. He gets 13.8 ppg and 1.8 topg. Lower BH/P are workable at the SF if everything else is good.

Yah. I had a ton of Post depth, three deep at post, I have a future SF ccandidate, but his IQ sucks right now, and my other SF candidate is better at SG - and the player in question wasn't playing anywhere near the minutes his stamina could stand. So I figured that extending him into the SF spot as a backup and giving him more minutes there would give me a nice bruiser candidate to back up my starter. That rebounding is a little weak for a Post, I figured it woudl be acceptable for a sf, and he does have a decent speed.
