Two quick questions, cant seem to find the answer to:

1) Do players accumulate service time during the playoffs if your not in the playoffs?
2) Will you get a demotion penalty for demoting someone during the playoffs?

If they were roster expansion call-ups, no. I'm almost certain that all other players are subject to demotion penalties(except prior to ST).

No penalty for demoting during the playoffs, plus, they will have the minor league salary at the start of next year (assuming they are not on a long term deal or arb eligible).

You're referring to roster expansion call-ups. A guy making 334K when the season begins will not revert to 55k if demoted during the playoffs.
