I'm sure this has been asked before but can't find the thread. Have a c+ Div 2 team and thinking of challenging a C- DivI sim for a player. Can this work?

Don't do it, it's too expensive.

not in different divisions. The Amount of money needed is way to high

Thanks for the advice. I think I'm going to follow it.

This. I cannot remember ever seeing a D2 team beat a D1 team for a recruit

Not a prayer. To win that battle you would need to spend $40,000....maybe more.

Not if its a back up/secondary recruit. I've done it before against a D- sim with my B+ prestige. It took me 14k to beat him out, but IMO it was worth it.

It's possible. I took a player from a D1 coached Sim team with my D2 Post team in Rupp last season, but........it'll cost you.

Yes, possible against a D/D- sim with a A level D2 team, but vs a C- D1 sim, no chance.

Really? Interesting stuff here. What you guys are saying is that a Sim must only be spending a very small amount on their secondary targets.

I would just take a wild guess that a D- D1 school has about twice as much clout dollar for dollar with a D2 A+ school. So if you are spending 12K on a local to beat a D1 sim in D2, simmy is prob only spending somewhere in the 5-6K range. That is not that much to overcome at any D1 school.

The recruits that consider a D1 sim from the beginning are almost impossible for a D2 to beat. The most I've spent was almost $20k on a local kid and he ended up at the sim anyway.

If a recruit was not considering anyone, then considers a D1 sim only after the signings begin, can be signed by a D2 team more often than not. I've signed these guys for as little as a couple home visits.

Aha! That is how I thought it was Iguana. Are any of you guys are 100% certain that you beat simmy for a recruit that was with considering him from cycle 1? I would expect that it is possible to beat simmy for one of their "last ditch effort" recruits, but beating them on one of their targets would have to cost a D2 team an impossible amount.

So Furry or Emy, were they considering a sim from the get go or were they second wave recruits? I am suddenly interested in this topic.

Not sure how I missed this. Yeah, it was a secondary recruit. I am not sure when he started considering him exactly, but I am 99% sure it wasn't from the start.
