I would feel better about his chances if he had more than 100 AB last season at AAA. You would think if he is ready for the bigs he would have started at AAA. Might not make any difference though.

oops, unless season is still rolling.

Hauser should be a solid 1B/DH. You could play him against RHPs and the occasional LHP and he might get 400+ ABs.

No reason he couldn't produce an 800 OPS with his CN, PR and BE.

A .325 hitter is hardly crap. He could drive in and/or score 100 runs in the right spot in the lineup, regardless of pop or lack thereof.

That depends. What is his name?
His ratings are a full house, that has to be worth something.

I agree in part - I can see him with an OPS of 800 in 400 ABs. The problem is that while I'm ecstatic with glee seeing that kind of production from a SS or CF, it's quite underwhelming from a 1B.

UPDATE:

Hauser has been a pleasant surprise so far.

As a rookie callup, he hit .287/.355/.502 in 209 ABs with 10 HRs and 48 RBIs as a pinch hitter and occasional starter against RHPs.

Now in his second season, he's hit his way into the regular lineup. With 26 games to play he's hitting .321/.370/.533 in 480 ABs with 22 HRs and 87 RBIs. His splits are .321/.374/.544 against RHPs, and .321/.364/.534 against LHPs.

His career OPS after about 750 PAs is now .903. At that rate he'll probably never make an HBD All Star game as a 1B, but he's still a bona fide regular and can expect to keep playing even after he hits arbitration. So far the young man from West Greenwich, RI gets a big thumbs up.

Wow, who is that guy, in which world? I'd like to follow his career. Thanks in advance.
