Rejected Home Visit? Topic

I have a higher prestige and closer than the other school. Anything I can do to get him to consider me? Does scouting trips count towards anything? He is a Juco player that will be a starter for me next season if I can get him.

Thanks for the help.

Also this is D3.

Yes, scouting trips count. I've had a player reject a home visit..then accept it after I did a scouting trip/home visit on the next cycle.

If the opposing coach has dropped a lot of money on the recruit, he still may reject your visit, though. Then you have to decide how much you're willing to spend

Recruits cant reject scouting trips but as ky said they give you effort so its always a good way to start out with a recruit. A lot of times if you just go in cold and offer visits they will reject them.

ya, he accepted my visits first. Ya I am pretty sold on the guy I am going for, and its the SIM i am going against. I have distance, money, and a full grade prestige on him.

Thanks for the help though guys.

Scouting trips are great to use to help a player accept HV/CV at lower levels.

In d3 and d2 I almost exclusivly use evals

How much does it give you for a boost? Is it the same as home visit? About half? 1/3? I know you couldn't know for sure, but your best guesstimates?

You are way overestimating the value (in terms of direct recruiting effort) if you think it is worth 1/3 a hv.

Okay that answers my question. So when it comes to him actually accepting the home visits I should just avoid the evals at that time.

If he will accept visits then use them if he will not then use evals they cannot be rejected.

Both of the recruits I'm after both rejected home visits, but in the same cycle I bought campus visits for both as well, they came and are now stoked about my school and have both entertained a home visit since.
