Violate Player Payroll? Topic

This season is season 15 in one of my leagues. My team has a very low salary with only 4 people on long term deals. I sent a trade request and got back a warning message that said this trade will violate player payroll in season 17. The projected payroll that season would be around 37M...what is that about? Is there a max you can have for seasons in advance? Is that max around 35M? That seems a little low...

It's based on your current season's payroll. The higher it is now, the higher it will be next season, and 2 seasons from now, etc.

If your payroll budget in season "n" is "x", then your salary cap for future seasons is:

n+1 = x * .80

n+2 = x * .70

n+3 = x * .60

n+4 = x * .50

This is to prevent owners from tying up future seasons with too much guaranteed money.

Just think of all the one and done owners before wondering about future seasons payrolls.
