Who would you go with between these two SS?

Con/Pow/L/R/Eye R/G/AP/AA Speed Dur
80/88/75/36/32 90/84/98/85 5 93
70/47/55/52/80 83/76/90/84 89 77

I just find these two fascinating to compare (and I like reading other threads like this). Player 1 stands out until you see his Eye and Speed, but he could play every day.

What do the vets think?

1st guy. The 2nd guy's glove isn't good enough for SS.

yep

Yeah number 2's glove doesn't really play at SS...

what side do they bat from?

B is a gold glover at 3rd or 2b.

A is a very solid major league SS who will have a couple terrible years in a decent career.

As long as B throws right. I understand that handed throwers have trouble at 2B.

Unless B's baserunning is 60+ he's a solid but unspectacular utility player. The higher the baserunning gets the more he progresses towards being a solid starting 2B. A is a solid SS, as soxfan says.

I would agree. B can't play SS. He could be a regular at 2b or 3b and be pretty good. A is a very good SS choice.

The second guy seems to be one of those "super-utility" types. You wouldn't want him playing everyday (even with high baserunning), but the fact that he could rest your 3B and 2B, he's probably worth a roster spot. And because the 1st guy has a durability of 93, the 2nd guy could could fill the role of backup SS.
