Tempo and a new offense Topic

I've taken over Georgia at Naismith, and I'm looking to do away with the fastbreak offense they had in favor of a motion offense (which I have more experience with). Granted, the majority of the team does not know the motion yet (got plenty of minutes in practice working to learn it now), and this season will have many bumps in the road as I make the change.
Since an uptempo offense means I'm putting up shots early in each possesion, wouldn't it be wise to run uptempo with an offense my team knows so little about as opposed to running a normal or slow tempo that would allow time for more TOs in each posession?
I've got a few SIM teams to try this against before I face a human coach, and I've got the usual advantages (ATH, speed, rebounding, etc). I just wondered if any thought this would be a good idea for now until my team gets in the C range with their understanding of the motion.
My first exhibition game was using the old O/D from last season. It didn't look so hot. My 2nd exhibition game was a mortion/FCP run at normal tempo. We didn't shoot so hot against a zone.
Any thoughts?

drethyl: Turnovers would happen as quickly as shots. The point of uptempo is that your possession ends potentially faster than normal or slow-down.

If your team is inferior you are mathematically better off by limiting the number of possessions (by running slowdown) and thus increasing the variance in the games' outcomes.
