Can you lose job options w/ a bad season? Topic

I've been asking around to gather advice on whether or not to jump to D1. I'm wondering:

If I have a good season at D2 (NT), will more jobs be available beyond the D- to D+ jobs I am currently qualified for? Can I expect another NT berth to open C- to C jobs? In 5 D2 seasons I have NT (most recent), NT, PI, PI, PI.

Or, if I have a crummy season (PI or no Postseason), will I loss some of the D+ options?

Thanks for putting up with me.

Yes, the most important year in terms of jobs availability is your most recent.

Yes, one bad season can definitely lower your job prospects.

Two seasons ago after a successful run at Marshall, I was qualified for every job out there and moved to Oklahoma (keeping my A+ loyalty and reputation). This past season, we went 12-15 and I went from being qualified for everything to not being qualified anything above D+. I wasn't even qualified for the Marshall job that I the previous season.

Now, this was just looking at moving within a division, I'm not sure if its the same for moving up a level, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was.

Thanks for the insights. As fickle as the job promotion/application process seems to be, it's best to make the jump if there's a job your want. Thanks.
